Last week’s BET Inaugural Ball for President Barack Obama saw a magnitude of stars turn out in support of the Commander-in-Chief’s second term.
Gabrielle Union, star of the network’s upcoming ‘Single Black Female’ drama, was photographed donning a violet-hued, floor-length gown and elegant pinned back curls, styled by Clairol Professional’s Kiyah Wright.
Find out how you can achieve Gabby’s chic do’ below:
1.) Mix Clairol Professional liquicolor permanente 3N with Clairol Professional 10 volume developer. Apply the formula from root to tip until the entire head is covered. Place under heat for 30 minutes and then rinse.
2.) Wash the hair with a hydrating, color-safe shampoo and conditioner (such as Clairol Professional Curl Shampoo and Conditioner).
3.) Blow-dry the hair with a round brush to create maximum volume at the root.
4.) Once dried, take 1” sections of hair and a 1” barrel curling iron to create spiral curls throughout the head.
5.) Leaving the bangs out, take 1” pieces from either side and bobby pin them to the center back of the head. Repeat this step until reaching the nape of the neck. The result should resemble a braid.
6.) Ensure the pinned back style is secure and then spritz with a light hold hairspray.
