What Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta Taught Us

LAHHATL 1000x800 What Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta Taught Us

Just when we thought the harrowing sounds of broken English and “B-I-C-T-H’s” (yes, in that order) were free from our minds, that sneaky Mona Scott Young and her fellow dutiful VH1 executives decided to pull us back into the ridiculousness that is “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” over the weekend.

In the “Dirty Little Secrets” special that aired Sunday night, we were able to catch up on the lives of the “Empire State of the South’s” most rachet finest, while also being given access to a few never before seen clips of the cast.

With the newest installment of the franchise, “LAHH 3,” on the horizon, we figured that we’d give you all a recap of the life lessons She is Diva took from season 1 of the ATL reality show:

vibe vixen Stevie J and Joseline rszd What Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta Taught Us

1.)    Side Chick Awareness is Real

Ladies, hide your boyfriends, and hide your husbands…because side chicks are on the hunt for every man out here! It was never the fact that Joseline Hernandez was Stevie J’s ‘something on the side’ that surprised us; it was her willingness to be just that. The sadness of seeing a woman openly vying for the #2 spot was more than we could bear. Protect your households accordingly, divas.

 2.)    Fools Rush In

While Karlie Redd and Benzino’s relationship was awkward enough to watch on its own, we cringed at the sight of the two moving in together after a mere few weeks of dating (let’s not even mention the ‘proposal’). It wasn’t a surprise to see that they fell out with one another by the time of the reunion show. Their entire debacle just goes to show that taking that extra time to get to know your significant other shouldn’t be taken for granted.

3.)    Business and Pleasure Never Mix

We knew Rasheeda was headed for an emotional breakdown as soon as she revealed that her husband was also her manager. It came as no surprise to find that both her career and marriage began to suffer due to the added stress of making sure her opinions were met as an entertainer and a wife. So, the next time you begin to think about taking your relationship to a professional level, take heed.

Erica Dixon GET ENGAGED TO LIL SCRAPPY What Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta Taught Us

4.)    “So, is You Gonna Marry a N-gga?” No Really, Are You?

Being that it’s ridiculously hard to overlook the romanticism in a proposal that occurs 1.) on a reunion show, and 2.) immediately after your man’s side chick (whom he hid from you for months) has just exited the stage in an angry banter…excuse us while we ponder Erica’s acceptance to Lil Scrappy’s offer for marriage. But, hey, we’re all about forgiving and forgetting, so, if she likes ‘them paws’ we’ll grow to love them too.

If you’re going through reality withdrawals without the ATL crew, rest assured that the folks at VH1 have just released the trailer for season 3 of LAHH in the Big Apple, spotted here.

What did you learn from Love & Hip Hop: ATL?
