×Featuring in TIME’s Person of the Year issue, Gabrielle Douglas adds the finishing touches to her amazing year of success. Posing in her gym attire, there’s no denying that she was born to do this.
With Barack Obama on the cover, Gabby does well to represent the younger generation and the competitive edge required in the world of sports. As well as this honour, in celebration of her win at London 2012, she was also named Female Athlete of the Year by the Associated Press.
What we love about the 16-year-old record breaker is her grounded attitude towards her future and remaining focus in spite of the hair dramas which sparked discussion within the black community. And she has no intention of slowing down. In Grace, Gold and Glory, she tells her readers: “I think there’s even higher bars to set”.
Brazil 2016, here we come!
