Sexy, smart and scandalous, indeed!

Ever a She Is Diva favourite, Kerry Washington graces the latest cover of Uptown magazine and discusses all things Django Unchained-related.

Rocking bed head and a sultry lace gown on the cover, Ms. Washington oozes sex appeal but turns to some wise words inside. Defending her role as a slave in the upcoming film, she says:

“If I were to say it’s okay to play a lawyer instead of a maid, or it’s okay to play a professor, but not a slave, that would be sort of spitting on the legacy of my grandmother, who was a maid on Park Avenue for years, or my ancestors in South Carolina, who came from slavery”

No doubt, this mindset helped her play her role effectively.

Just having two days of shooting scenes for Django Unchained between playing Olivia Pope on Scandal, she is one talented woman! We certainly can’t wait to see what she has in store.
