This is a sad one girls, so buckle up.

Last week, Kevin Clash- who plays ‘Elmo’ on ‘ The Sesame Street’- found himself in fishy waters when a 23 year old man claimed the pair had been in a sexual relationship for the last seven years, starting when he was just 16 years old- under the age of legal consent in the US.

In response to the claim- Clash revealed that he was indeed gay and had been in a ‘consensual’ relationship with his alleged lover- a reported Mr. Sheldon Stephens. In response to this, Stephens released the following statement via the law firm Andreozzi & Associates, taking the voice actor out of the red:

“This office represented a 23-year-old man who was the subject of many media reports regarding Kevin Clash. He wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship. He will have no further comment on the matter.”

Unfortunately for Kevin, it wasn’t long before Stephen stepped all over the above statement when he claimed that he had been paid a handsome $125,000 by Clash to release the statement and had felt pressured to do so.

A day later, as in yesterday, a second man came forward with similar claims and revealed that he was suing the Elmo actor for $5 million, as explained in the court document below:

“At all relevant times, Kevin Clash was an unmarried adult male living a prominent public life centered around the entertainment of toddlers, while at the same time he was, in secret, preying on teenage boys to satisfy his depraved sexual interests.

“Kevin Clash, the voice of Elmo, trolled gay telephone chat line rooms to meet and have sex with underage boys.[...]During these telephone calls, Kevin Clash persuaded, induced, coerced or enticed Cecil Singleton to meet him for sexual encounters. Kevin Clash groomed Cecil and gained his trust by, among other things, taking him to nice dinners and giving him money.

On numerous occasions over a period of years, Kevin Clash engaged Cecil Singleton in sexual activity. This sexual activity began when Cecil was fifteen years old.”
