Well, kind of, but not really…let’s explain:

Last night, Kim Kardashian was spotted (sans her boy toy Kanye West) in Greenville, North Carolina, as she attended the HQ Battery 10^th Marine Corps Ball with her date, Sgt. Martin Gardner.

Gardner, a member of the event’s event planning committee, requested the reality star’s presence via Twitter, and to his surprise, she accepted. Although currently filming a new season of ‘Kourtney and Kim Take Miami,’ she rearranged her working schedule in order to fulfill her promise.

The 32-year-old stole the show in a bright red, mermaid style Roland Mouret gown, accompanied by a plunging neck line. In one candid shot, it appeared that even her date was a bit distracted by the E! maven’s curves.

After the two parted ways, Kim made sure to acknowledge the outstanding service of ‘the few, and the proud,’ by tweeting: ‘Just left the Marine Corps Ball… Thanks to all of the marines I had the opportunity to meet tonight! Thank you for all that you do!’

She also gave a special shout out to the Sergeant for reaching out to her, thanking him ‘so much for the invite.’

Good for Kim for keeping her word!
