‘Baddie Bey’ is trading in her life on the stage for a life in a magical forest for the new 3D child-friendly film ‘Epic.’

It was reported that Beyoncé was tapped earlier this year to portray Queen Tara, the movie’s equivalent to a real life mother nature.

The picture’s director, Chris Wedge, described the ‘I Was Here’ singer’s role as ‘the one sworn protect the forest,’ while also serving as ‘the source of its magic.’

‘The film centers on Mary Katherine who begins her journey by questioning her dad, Prof. Bomba, about whether a hidden world of leaf-armored warriors really exists in the woods.  After finding herself transported to the forest, she must then save the world from the ever present evil by creating the most unlikely team the magical forest can offer.’

Look out for the adventure to be released during the summer of 2013.
