If you’ve been tuned into ‘Basketball Wives LA’, you’ll know that the series- which is far better than its original ‘Miami’ series- serves no shortage of drama.
Last week, after trying to get to the bottom of her rocky relationship with her daughters, Jackie Christie found herself in hot water when confronted with claims she abandoned her children when they were younger, and is more concerned with fame than she is with family.
These claims, aimed at her by outspoken daughter Chantel.
However, Christie found herself in even more trouble when her ex BFF Laura Govan met with Chantel to get the real tea on the pair’s rocky relationship…against Jackie’s will. Now, after exposing her mother’s negligent and ‘fame hungry’ lifestyle on camera during their conversation, Chantel has now revealed that she regrets speaking to Laura.
Her statement below:
“I was in a bad place in MY life. Was it right? No. Was it “all lies”? No. Was it 4 “publicity”? No. Did I know where Laura was coming from? NO. Do I regret it? I regret airing my personal life out 2 [someone] who, I now feel, had malicious intent.
I regret addressing it publicly, at all. You all can believe WHATEVER you would like to. I know MY truth. I wake up everyday and I have to live MY life. None of y’all do it for me. I will not call it a mistake because in THAT moment, it was exactly what I wanted to do.
Looking back, it NEVER should’ve happened. When all this “reality” sh-t is over. When the camera cuts, and production wraps… That is still my Mother. And we have, and will continue to, mend our relationship BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, not for a million people to watch, dissect and judge. @JackieChristie, I love you. & I’m not sure how, but as a FAMILY, I’m sure we’ll get through this. If you’re ready, I’m willing.”
In response to her daughter’s Tweet, Jackie explained:
“lol if you believe foolishness then you deserve to be called a fool:-) I’m not angry as we all know the TRUTH, and she is very Sorry for it in more ways than one so I’m good:) xo. I LOVE HONOR & CHERISH NOT ONLY MY GIRLS BUT MY WHOLE FAMILY! #NUFF SAID, 
… DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE…:-)
I forgive my lil lady she was just mad,she apologized & nothing comes between a mothers love besides was not her fault love her. Hey guys really lets be done with the bs on the subject Laura said publicly she is SORRY for her actions… My fam & I just want to move on.”
However, it was Laura’s response that we say is the most telling, with:
“1st Jackie daughter reached out TOO me.. Jackie Christie should be grateful I would never disrespect anyone’s children! I didn’t tell her what to say, that was her truth. Judge that.I never spoke negatively about Jackie to her daughter…in fact all I did was LISTEN. Don’t tell ppl to mind their business when you the one who keep puttin your business out there! If you would have LISTENED to your children EARLY on then the WORLD wouldn’t have had to.The issue isn’t me talking to someone’s child, the real issue is someone’s child talking to me! I can admit when I’m wrong…was it the best thing to do? NO. Should I have thought of another way to get my point across. YES.”
Sad thing is… we agree with her.

Laura has become a very unpleasant and unlikeable person. She should have referred Jackie’s daughter to someone else instead of allowing her to confide in her when she knows that she does not really consider her mother a friend and has negative vindictive feelings toward her. It was wrong for Laura to allow Jackie’s daughter to open up to her and the way she acts toward Jackie is worse. Two wrongs don’t make a right so even if Jackie was wrong in the past it doesn’t now justify what Laura is doing. She needs to walk away from Jackie AND her family/kids instead of being two faced or stabbing Jackie in the back.

One more thing, the daughter is young and felt hurt and needed someone to talk to so the fact that she picked the wrong person is forgivable. But Laura knew better, KIDS ARE OFF LIMITS. Laura’s behavior is inexcusable. All she had to do is say that she did not think it would be appropriate to have this conversation and refer the daughter to a specialist.

LAURA IS A MISERABLE PERSON. SHE IS MAD BECAUSE ALL SHE HAS IS A BABY DADDY. SO SHE WANTS EVERYBODY TO BE PITFUL JUST LIKE HER. THE NAME OF THE SHOW IS BASKETBALL WIVES SHE HAS NEVER BEEN ONE!!!!!!!! SO SHE SHOULDN’T BE ON THE SHOW IT WOULD BE BETTER WITH HER. AND IT SO SAD WHEN YOU HAVE TO USE KIDS TO TRY AND GET EVEN .

Christie is just mad her daughter told the word the truth and Laura can’t be blamed if she was asked to help bring it out. Christie always did seem like a fame whore to me but what Chantel confirmed it for me.

What Shaunie got to do with this. She is just as fake if you ask me, L can do whatever she wants to do and she did, so the only person Christie should be angry with is her daughter.
I could sense that Christie was in it for the fame the moment i laid eyes on her and her own child even said it so what’s the problem?

Actually we were not there so we really don’t know the whole story. Obviously the mother and daughter have a different impression or version regarding their issues. The bottom line is it was not Laura’s place to be the confidant. The daughter realizes that now, but it’s too late. Laura knew better from the jump and could have cut the daughter off BEFORE she made disclosures that she now regrets.

But Chantel is the one who called Laura to meet. Its not her fault she’s got a big mouth. Plus she may have been forced to film that scene by the producers.

Everyone wants to blame Laura but Chantel called her and all Laura did was listen. Food, gifts and a big mansion is nothing compared to love and understanding.

@ LurveSong– but if Laura had never pretended to be Jackie’s friend, Chantel would have never thought of her as someone she should confide in. It’s the fact that Laura was being so fake that makes her wrong in this situation. On top of that she obviously just wanted to get information to use against Jackie at a later time, that’s just heartless.

First and foremost her daughter contacted Laura, Laura did not air Jackie dirty laundry like that too the group, she did talk to her sister about the issue but she was not carrying liek Jackie did going back and forth

Laura didn’t set it up and maybe the producers had a hand in referring Chantel to Laura. But Laura did not have to allow Chantel to confide in her and I’m sure she would not have done so had she known about Laura’s true feelings toward her mother. That’s why she regrets confiding in Laura because she now knows that Laura was a fake. Face it, Laura was wrong. Before the meeting even took place she said she wanted to talk to Jackie’s daughter. Well she got what she wanted and now the daughter regrets it but it’s too late.

Laura is a bitter and miserable former fatty with 4 kids by a dude who treated her like crap, will never marry her although she has a huge rock on her finger AND the dude banged her sister. So if I had all that going on, hell I’d be a miserable heffa too!
