Reality television has definitely gotten a bit more “real” within the past few weeks.
Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Nene Leakes proved long ago that she was hardly shy about sharing her views, regardless of the topic.
She recently sat down with Essence.com and offered a word to her fellow reality TV comrade, Basketball Wives’ Eveyln Lozada, about handling her current domestic abuse situation with husband Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson (whom she has since filed to divorce).
Per hellobeautiful.com, although the ever-opinionated Atlanta starlet identifies with the Miami firecracker in her own previous bouts with domestic violence, she believes the incident should be dealt with privately.
When Essence questioned her about her thoughts on Evelyn and Ocho, Leakes responded:
“I wanted to reach out to her, but I didn’t. I feel like when people are going through something I’m confused about whether I should say something or not, because so many people are saying stuff to them. I don’t talk to Evelyn regularly, but I do know her, we do text if we need something from another. The only advice I would have for Evelyn is to be quiet. I wouldn’t say anything else. To me, it makes matters worse and I would be quiet and try to it handle privately.”
While we can understand “The New Normal” cast member’s using of her personal insight to offer advice on the situation, we don’t feel that Ev should silence herself. Given the platform she’s constructed via VH1, the telling of her story could be just what her fans, and any women currently dealing with domestic violence, need to hear.

Unless Evelyn Lozonda is going to speak about her own VIOLENT BEHAVIOR toward others, I really don’t want to hear anymore from her. I am so tired of term “abuse” being battered about! No one should be violent toward another irrespective of gender.

I’ve been through domestic violence to the point where I was almost killed. I do not feel in any way Evelyn should be an advocate… NONE AT ALL!
That head but was wrong coming from Ocho… but she needed it. Karma is a MOFO!
